RESIN or FDM?
Which print method is right for you?
UV Light Cured Liquid Resin
Resin printing achieves great detail with near invisible print lines, and many material choices available.
Resin is more fragile than FDM and may break when dropped or struck. Resin is ideal for objects that don't experience great forces or require strength, such as figurines, casting parts and digital sculptures.
Resin layers are hardened by exposure to an intense high resolution light emitting screen beneath the liquid resin and model build plate, which solidifies thin, individual print layers, one at a time, resulting in a complete model.
The great advantage of resin is speed. Unlike FDM, which prints one model at a time, resin can print multiple models at once - as many as can be packed onto the build plate.

Fused Deposition Modeling
FDM is ideal for parts that do not require high detail or surface aesthetics, such as knobs, handles, gears and whatever you can imagine. Although, FDM can be sanded and painted to achieve a very smooth surface finish.
FDM prints are created by a fine extrusion of melted material is printed in a continuous line to create a thin layer before proceeding onto the next layer.
With FDM, one model can be printed at a time. so FDM requires more print time than resin.
Although FDM produces less detail than resin, printing with FDM in PLA and ABS creates strong parts that clean up well and take great abuse!
